Technique Academy
Join Lois at Sew Smart as she presents specific strategies to make
your quilting easier. She will explore a variety of techniques:
paper piecing, mitering borders, silk thread use, blanket stitch,
half square accuracy and much more! Please reserve your spot
today! Each 1 1/2 hour session will cost $5.00. You will
receive a handout for that technique and you can either watch a
demonstration of the technique or bring your machine and try the
technique yourself. Here is a great way to create your personal
binder of useful quilting techniques.
July 26th -Noon & 5pm - Half
-Squre Triangles - Two accurate techniques.
August 9th - Noon & 5pm -Mitered
Borders - Nothing to be frightened of!
August 23rd - Noon & 5pm - Paper
Piecing - Great way to sew accurate blocks
September 13th - 5PM - Using
Silk & Other Decorative Threads - for piecing, applique,
and quilting. You're going to want ot bring your own machine for
this one.
September 27th - 5PM - Button
Hole Stitch - You can do this stitch by hand or machine,
various threads make a difference too.
October 11th - 5PM -Piecing on the
Fly - Speed up your pieced project by being DONE!
October 25th - 5PM - Applique`
- Explore a minimum of three applique techniques.
November 1st -
5PM - Hand Piecing & Templates - When hand
piecing is perfect to do.

Serger Basics

This class is for you. Mary will teach you how to thread and set
your serger for all it's basic stitches including gathering,
rolled hem and flat lock. Skill level: beginner. Teacher:
